We are thrilled that the Pritchatts Park Village project has been recognised and
awarded the Best Education and Higher Education Project.
Delivered in collaboration with Equitix, the University of Birmingham and EQUANS,
this £200 million project exemplifies what thoughtful infrastructure can achieve. From
modernising and expanding student accommodation to creating inclusive, eco-
conscious spaces, net zero focused accommodation, Pritchatts Park is a benchmark
for how educational living should feel and function.
The project included the refurbishment of 734 existing bedrooms, 496 brand-new
student units, a redesigned social hub, and a multi-storey car park fitted with over
100 EV charging points. What’s more, the team embedded key inclusivity features
such as quiet, low-sensory zones and step-free access, shaped by student input
from the start.
Delivered ahead of schedule in 2024, it’s not just the buildings that make this a
success – it’s the 50-year commitment to quality management and student wellbeing
that sets it apart. The judges called it a shining example of positive impact for
students and the wider university community.
EMS played a crucial role during the project mobilisation to ensure a smooth
commencement, the EMS team were central to the construction management and
coordinating maximum collaboration amongst stakeholders before being the driving
force behind a soft landing and use of the facilities. The finance and operational
team across EMS are motivated by the calmness and consistent delivery they
bring to major complex projects such as Pritchatts Park.
We are proud to have played a part in shaping a space where students can thrive
today and for decades to come.
