EMS is pleased to announce that we have been appointed as the management services provider for the Manchester and Wakefield Street Lighting projects.

The projects include the ongoing asset management and maintenance of c.63,000 and c.48,000 streetlights and illuminated traffic signage across Manchester and Wakefield respectively, which is carried out by Amey LG Limited through the Operating Subcontract. EMS will deliver the financial, administrative, company secretarial, general and operational management services to both project companies going forward.

This significant projects adds to our growing street lighting portfolio, of 23 projects and establishes us as the largest street lighting MSA provider in the UK. Street lighting is a critical piece of urban infrastructure, improving quality of life by ensuring safety, reducing crime rates and permits social activities in non-daylight hours.

EMS utilises a designated street lighting delivery team, including 5 operational and 11 finance personnel, all of whom bring unrivalled knowledge, best practice and added value to the projects and our clients.

We commenced services on the Manchester and Wakefield projects with only four years until PFI contract expiry. Our increasing knowledge, experience and approach to handback within the street lighting sector was a large part of our success in winning this critical services project.

The projects are an equal co-investment between Equitix and DIF Capital Partners (“DIF”), via Amey Ventures Investments, supporting our commitment to partnership.
