Cowdown Solar Farm was commissioned under the ROC subsidy regime in 2016 and generates around 40GWh of electricity per year; enough for 75% of the needs of the town of Andover next to the site. It contains over 150,000 solar panels, seventeen 33kV substations and over 1200 inverters.

This site is one of the largest Huawei inverter installations in the UK and contains a number of environmental schemes including a working apiary for the Andover Beekeepers Association.
