The OFTO (Offshore Transmission Operator) connects a 503 MW wind farm, operated by SSE, off the Suffolk cost to the National Grid at Sizewell. The asset comprises two offshore platforms, four 133kV subsea cables and one onshore substation.

Operations overseen by EMS take place offshore, on the seabed and within the high voltage compounds. We work in close cooperation with parties including SSE as wind farm operator, the Marine Management Organisation, the local Fishermen, the Crown Estate, the onshore Landowners and the National Grid.

Commissioned in 2012, the OFTO is one of the older assets in the scheme.

EMS successfully oversaw the transition between O&M contractors.
