Equisisk, a joint venture company of Equitix and John Sisk & Sons were appointed by Health Service Executive (HSE) to design, build, finance and maintain the community nursing units for a 25-year period before being handed back.

The Nursing Units are community facilities. The bearing their development will have on communities and families across Ireland is immeasurable. The CNU project is much more than a PPP, it is a community facility that will provide much needed high quality environments for some of the most vulnerable in society improving their quality of life.

The project responds to the challenges of Ireland’s ageing population by providing 530 short and long stay beds in Cork, Kerry, Kilkenny, Louth, Tipperary and Westmeath.

The Community Nursing Units PPP Project was awarded Best Healthcare Project at the 2023 PPP Awards.
